The Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) on Thursday alleged that the power is being cut at the polling booths in Vaishali, where RJD is strong, to slow the voting process.
Taking to X, "During the voting in the first phase, electricity is being cut off intermittently at the strong booths of the Mahagathbandhan with the intention of slowing down the voting. Slow voting is being deliberately caused."
"Please, the Election Commission, take immediate cognisance of such rigging with malicious intent and mala fide intentions and take prompt," it added.
Reacting to it Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar dismissed the allegations as baseless. "This allegation is completely baseless and misleading. Voting is proceeding smoothly at all polling stations in Bihar. The Election Commission of India is following all standard protocols to ensure the voting process is fair, transparent, and smooth. There is no basis for such misleading propaganda."
In a separate post, RJD also accused the Vaishali administration of systematically preventing voting in many areas by stopping vehicles heading to Raghopur, the assembly constituency where Tejashwi Yadav is a candidate.
"The Vaishali district administration has systematically stopped the operation of vehicles heading to Raghoopur via the 6-lane bridge and boats from Kaccha Dargah, thereby depriving hundreds of voters in Raghoopur of their voting rights! Even upon showing voter cards, the police is not agreeing," RJD said in an X post.
"By what authority are voters being deprived of their voting rights," the Tejashwi-led party added.
