Bihar Elections 2025: Bhojpuri star Shatrughan Yadav, alias Khesari Lal Yadav, who is contesting the Bihar Assembly elections from the Chapra seat in Saran district as an RJD candidate, reacted to his viral video in which he is seen praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he respects the PM even today.

"I absolutely admire him (the PM), and I still do. He's never been bad, but why hasn't his vision been extended to our Bihar? This is my question," he asked.

They (NDA) have been in power at the Centre for 15 years and have been in Bihar for 20 years and yet, why haven't people in Bihar found employment, a better university, or a better hospital, the singer-actor questioned.

Questioning the NDA government at the Centre and in Bihar, he said they run trains for Bihar but don't open factories.

"Why do they only give us trains? Why don't they give us factories? You have made Gujarat so much better; I want you to make Bihar as good as half of Gujarat," he continued in conversation with the news agency ANI.

PM Modi is on such a big pedestal, and when he talks about 'Jungle Raj', I feel sad rather than happy that our 'Jungle Raj' was not as big as you made it out to be, he added.

"Even today, people here are scared of setting up factories because they hear from their own leaders that there is Jungle Raj. Your government has been in power for 20 years, and even then, there is Jungle Raj; then what have you changed," he asked.

RJD’s Rohini Acharya Defends Khesari On BJP’s ‘Nachaniya’ Jibe

Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rohini Acharya defended Khesari after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) made fun of the Bhojpuri star, calling him a “nachaniya” (dancer). The BJP mocked Khesai's candidature, calling him a “nachaniya” (dancer) and suggesting that he posed no real challenge on the political battlefield.

Defending the Bhojpuri actor, Acharya pointed out the party’s hypocrisy, noting that several figures within the BJP also have connections to the film industry.
