Bihar Polls: With just a few days remaining in the Bihar Assembly election, both the major alliances, NDA and Mahagathbandhan, have announced their manifestos. Apart from this, the newly formed Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj has also made several key promises, including job opportunities to the labour class and removal of the liquor ban. Kishor has stated that the liquor ban has severely affected the revenue of the state, further claiming that the liquor is still being sold in most of the cities. Apart from this, he has been targeting the regional parties RJD and JDU for allegedly not working for the development of the state for the past few decades. However, several experts have suggested that Kishor's decision to not contest the polls has affected his campaign.
PK's Decision To Not Contest Polls
Earlier in October, Kishor announced that he will not contest against RJD's Tejashwi Yadav from Raghopur. While providing reasons, he stated that the decision was taken for the benefit of Jan Suraaj, as the party members asked him to campaign for the other candidates.
However, Kishor had visited Raghopur and had announced multiple times that he would contest the polls against Tejashwi if the party members asked him to do so. His decision to not contest the polls has seemingly affected his campaign, as several experts, including senior journalist Shashi Shekhar questioned Kishor's strategy.
Big words, big plans, but no results. Jan Suraaj turned out to be just another show. Bihar deserves action, not acting. #BiharRejectsJanSuraaj pic.twitter.com/xJ30a1JCH2

Liquor Ban: What Is Prashant Kishor's Roadmap?
Prashant Kishor has been very vocal on the removal of the liquor ban in the state, citing massive loss of revenue and an alleged ground-level corruption. While Kishor endorses Mahatma Gandhi's policies, who was against the consumption of liquor, Kishor suggested that the decision to consume liquor should not be enforced through law. However, several studies suggest that the liquor ban has led to a significant drop in the cases of domestic violence.

While Prashant Kishor has been raising key issues and is talking about big reforms, his lack of clarity on some of the key issues has affected his campaign.
