Bihar Electoral Roll Revision: The Election Commission on Sunday urged the Bihar voters to submit the counting form ahead of the deadline, July 25. Amid an ongoing controversy regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2025 of the Voter List, the poll body has advised the voters to not wait for the last date. It further stated that the voters can also fill out the form online on the commission's website even if the Booth Level Officer (BLO) has not verified their eligibility. The Election Commission has asked the voters to submit at least one of 11 listed documents to add their names to the voter list. While the opposition leaders claimed that the revision was a strategy to keep marginalised groups away from the voting process, the poll body stated that the revision was done as per the rules.
The Election Commission on Sunday confirmed that the voters need to present at least one of 11 listed documents before the representatives of the commission. Apart from this, the commission also clarified that no amendment or change has been made in the detailed guidelines issued on June 24 regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2025 of the voter list.
