Bihar Energy Secretary and Power Company CMD Pankaj Kumar Pal chaired a review meeting on the Revenue Management System (RMS) on Thursday, emphasising the need to enhance human resources to accelerate the resolution of electricity consumer issues. The meeting saw the participation of senior officials, including NBPDCL Managing Director Rahul Kumar.
Pankaj Kumar Pal instructed the agency overseeing RMS implementation to develop a system for the prompt resolution of problems reported by field teams and consumers, ensuring uninterrupted consumer services. Currently, RMS is being piloted in Gaya Rural, Patna Rural, Shivhar, and Benipur (Darbhanga).
The Energy Secretary urged the agency to prioritise resolving all issues to maintain a smooth billing and revenue collection process. He also directed the IT team to upgrade infrastructure in line with RMS requirements.
Furthermore, he stressed that all divisions of NBPDCL and SBPDCL must be fully prepared before going live, to facilitate faster execution during this phase. The remaining modules related to prepaid billing and energy accounting are to be implemented within the stipulated timeframe without any glitches, ensuring seamless rollout of the Revenue Management System.
