Gopalganj has launched the 100-Day TB-Free India campaign as part of a national effort to eliminate tuberculosis, following the notable success of the pilot phase conducted in 347 districts from December 7, 2024, to March 17, 2025. The initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is now being scaled across all districts in Bihar, including Gopalganj.

Under this intensified drive, door-to-door identification and monitoring of TB patients will be carried out, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment. Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) and Community Health Officers (CHO) will lead the campaign as frontline TB warriors, working closely with local communities.

A key highlight of the campaign is its emphasis on community involvement. The Health Department has called for active participation from elected representatives, NGOs, media outlets, self-help groups, and social organisations to raise awareness and improve outreach.

The campaign also aims to ensure TB screening and X-ray testing for high-risk and vulnerable populations. Patients with non-communicable diseases (NCDs) will be screened at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. A 100 per cent TB testing target has been set across all panchayats and high-risk zones.

Eligible TB patients will receive nutritional support under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana and assistance through the Nikshay Mitra initiative. Additionally, a systematic analysis of TB-related deaths, similar to the maternal mortality audit, will be conducted to improve future intervention strategies.
