NDA's smaller allies — LJP(RV) led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, HAM-S led by Jitan Ram Manjhi, and RLM led by Upendra Kushwaha — will also get representation. "The LJP (RV) is likely to get three berths in the new state cabinet while the HAM-S and RLM one berth each. A maximum of 16 ministers from the BJP and 14 ministers, along with CM Nitish Kumar from JD(U), will take oath on November 20", sources said as quoted by PTI.

JD(U) leaders likely to be part of the new Cabinet include Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Shrowan Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Lesi Singh, Sheila Mandal, Madan Sahni, Ratnesh Sada, Mohammad Zama Khan, Jayant Raj, Umesh Singh Kushwaha, and Ashok Chowdhary.

Lobbying among NDA partners is still underway to finalise cabinet berths a day before the formation of the new government on Thursday. A report by PTI stated that a consensus has been reached among NDA partners over the post of Assembly Speaker, with BJP's Prem Kumar likely to be appointed for the post and Deputy Speaker will go to JD(U).

The new Cabinet will likely have five to six new faces from the main constituents of the NDA — the BJP and the JD(U). Umesh Singh Kushwaha, JD(U) state chief who won from the Mahnar assembly seat, is likely to be inducted in the new Cabinet. While JD(U) is likely set to retain its current ministers, the BJP may bring in a few new faces.

JDU Chief Nitish Kumar on Wednesday submitted the letter of support to the Governor, staking claim to form the new government in Bihar. The letter was signed by all NDA parties, extending their support to Nitish Kumar-led government in the state.

Nitish Kumar will take the oath for the 10th time as the Chief Minister of Bihar on November 20. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna at 11:30 am.

Days after a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly election, the NDA is set to form a fresh government on November 20. The oath ceremony will be held at Patna's Gandhi Maidan and is likely to be attended by several key figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The Nitish Kumar-led NDA registered victory in 202 out of the total 243 Assembly constituencies, its biggest victory after the 2010 Assembly polls.

Bihar's acting CM Nitish Kumar reached Bihar Assembly in Patna for the NDA meeting on Wednesday afternoon.

"'Soon, Bihar will become 'Viksit Bihar'..." Union Minister and BJP MP Arjun Ram Meghwal told ANI.

The BJP emerged as the single largest party by winning 89 seats, while its ally, JD(U), won 85 seats in Bihar Election 2025.

First-time MLA, Maithili Thakur said, "It is a big day for us...I will obey the party's orders."

With a remarkable maiden win from the Alinagar assembly constituency of Bihar, the 25-year-old folk singer is set to become the youngest-ever member of the upcoming 18th Bihar assembly. Maithili Thakur's entry into Bihar politics came as a surprise to those tracking Bihar politics, as her entry itself was with an MLA ticket from the BJP.

"The MLAs unanimously supported proposals to elect Samrat Choudhary as leader and Vijay Sinha ji as the deputy leader of the BJP legislature party in Bihar," Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal told ANI.

The ruling NDA got 202 seats, a three-fourths majority in the 243-member House. This is the second time the NDA has crossed the 200-mark in the assembly polls. In the 2010 polls, it had won 206 seats.

"The NDA has achieved a historic victory and the people of Bihar have reposed their complete faith in the NDA. As grand as this victory is, our swearing-in ceremony, which will also include the presence of the Prime Minister, will be equally grand. I believe that as great as this victory is, so great is our responsibility... They (Mahagathbandhan) finished their party in Bihar by talking about this (vote chori) and now they will be finished in West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu," Union Minister Chirag Paswan  told reporters on Wednesday.

BJP's Central Observer for the election of the leader of the legislative party in Bihar, KP Maurya, said, "I announce the names of Samrat Choudhary as the leader of the BJP legislature party and Vijay Kumar Sinha as the deputy leader.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has elected Samrat Choudhary as the new leader of its legislature party. Vijay Sinha was elected as the deputy leader.

The JD(U) legislative party meeting has concluded in Patna. The leaders of JD(U) are scheduled to attend a joint meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar on Wednesday, November 19.

A joint meeting of the NDA legislative party will be held today at 3:30 PM in the Central Hall of the Assembly where Nitish Kumar will be elected as the leader. 

Nitish Kumar, along with several other ministers, will take the oath at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on November 20. The ceremony is expected to begin at 11 AM in the presence of PM Modi and key dignitaries.

Nitish Kumar has been elected as the JD(U) legislature party leader. He will submit his resignation to the Governor in the evening.

The JD(U) legislature party meeting has begun at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's residence in which Kumar will be elected as the leader. 

Speaking to news agency PTI, JD(U) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha said that the process of forming a new government will begin in the evening after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar submits his resignation to the Governor.

The JD(U) legislative party meeting will be held at 11:00 AM in Patna, in which Nitish Kumar will be elected as the leader, followed by NDA legislative party meeting at 3:30 PM.

Nitish Kumar is set to take the oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the record 10th time on November 20 at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Preparations are underway for the swearing-in ceremony.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to submit his resignation today, November 19, following which the current assembly will be dissolved and the process of forming of new government will start.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Union Minister Satish Chandra Dubey said that the central leadership will decide who will be the Deputy CM and cabinet ministers.

“We have had a huge victory in Bihar. There is an atmosphere of joy. Several leaders will come and attend the ceremony... The central leadership will decide who will be the Deputy CM and Cabinet Ministers…” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several key figures are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on November 20. 

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JDU) are scheduled to hold separate meetings today ahead of the NDA legislative party meet at 3:30 PM.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday went to the Raj Bhavan and submitted a letter to the Governor seeking the dissolution of current assembly on November 19. 

The BJP and JDU will hold separate meetings, which will then be followed by a joint meeting of the NDA legislature party at 3:30 PM in the Central Hall of the Assembly. 

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Bihar chief Dilip Jaiswal on Tuesday said that the party will hold a key meeting on Wednesday, November 19, ahead of the oath-taking ceremony on November 20.

Ahead of the key meeting scheduled for November 19, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are finalising the list of ministers of the BJP and JDU, respectively. 

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Patna’s Gandhi Maidan on November 20 in the presence of key leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
