In a major departmental shuffle, the Bihar government has transferred five IPS officers and two state police officers in the state ahead of the assembly elections. The Home Department has issued an order regarding the transfers.
-According to the order, Dr Inamul Haq Manganu, posted as Superintendent of Police in Arwal, has been appointed as Superintendent of Police, Railway.
-Manish Kumar, who is serving as SP for the Central Selection Board (CSB), has been made the new SP of Arwal.
-Pushkar Anand, who is currently posted in the Special Branch, has been appointed Commandant of the Bihar Special Armed Police (SAP), Jamalpur.
-Aditya Kumar, who was stationed at the Police Headquarters, has been appointed SP of ANTF Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau.
-Amritendu Shekhar Thakur, who was the Railway SP in Patna, has been made the SP of the Central Selection Board of Police Constable Recruitment.

-Ranjan Kumar, a Bihar Police Service officer who was Commandant of the Jamalpur Bihar Special Armed Police 09, has been appointed Superintendent of Police (B) in the Special Branch.
-Shankar Kumar Jha, who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Special Branch.
Bihar Elections
The elections for the 243-member assembly is to take place before the end of next month as the assembly tenure is ending on November 22. The Election Commission visited Bihar to take stock of poll preparedness and meet the representatives of the political parties.

CEC Gyanesh Kumar said that the poll body will complete the election process before the term for the assembly ends. During the meeting with the poll body, political parties in Bihar urged that the elections be conducted in fewer phases.
