The Bihar Road Construction Department has approved seven new infrastructure schemes aimed at road and drain construction and renovation across six districts, with a sanctioned budget of Rs 70 crore. Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen announced the decision on Thursday, highlighting the state’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure.
The newly approved projects include two schemes in East Champaran (Motihari) and one each in Vaishali, Gopalganj, Purnia, Madhubani, and Muzaffarpur. These projects form part of a broader infrastructure push by the state government.
In total, the department has greenlit 30 schemes in the last 11 days alone, with a cumulative cost of Rs 195 crore. These projects will cover 10 districts, including Patna, East Champaran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Saharsa, Purnia, and Kaimur.
“The state government is working with dedication to ensure smooth and safe road connectivity for both urban and rural populations,” said Minister Naveen. He added that the projects involve not just the construction of new roads but also the widening of existing ones, drainage development, and repair of damaged stretches.
The minister emphasised that improving road infrastructure remains a top priority to facilitate better connectivity and boost overall development across Bihar.
