Bihar Govt Formation: Preparations for forming a new government in Bihar are almost complete. According to sources, this time the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have more cabinet ministers, while Nitish Kumar will remain the chief minister. The formula was decided at the NDA meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Power Distribution Among NDA Partners

According to Jagran.com, the BJP is expected to include 15-16 ministers in the new government, while the JD-U will have approximately 14 cabinet positions. In the recent two-phase elections to the 243-seat Bihar Assembly, the BJP won 89 seats, while the JDU won 85.

The Lok Janshakti Party (R) won 19 seats and could receive 3 ministerial posts. Meanwhile, Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustan Awam Morcha (Secular), which won five seats, and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha, which won four seats, are expected to receive one ministerial position each.

Power-sharing was decided on the principle that one ministerial position would be given to every six MLAs.

New Govt To Form In Next Six Days: Chirag Paswan Clears The Air

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan has confirmed that the process to form the new government will be completed before November 22.

Speaking to the reporters, Paswan said, "The government formation will happen soon. Discussions are underway. Clarity will emerge on the government's outline.

"I think I will also speak to senior Union ministers by tonight, and the outline will be ready by today or tomorrow. We have to form the government before November 22nd. Work is underway on this," he added.

His statement comes at a time when the NDA government in Bihar is working on the details of the new administration before the term of the current assembly ends on November 22, 2025.

The NDA secured a thumping majority with 202 seats in the 243-member assembly. The BJP led with 89 seats, followed by the Janata Dal (United) in second place with 85.

Other allies also performed well in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Chirag Paswan's party, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), won 19 seats, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) won 5, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha won 4.

In contrast, the RJD-led Grand Alliance won only 35 seats. The RJD won 25, the Congress won 6, the CPI(ML)(L) won 2, the Bharatiya Samaveshi Party won 1, and the CPI(M) won 1.

Prashant Kishore's Jansuraj also failed to win in this election. Meanwhile, the AIMIM won 5 seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party won 1 seat.
