Bihar Govt Grants Pay Protection To 3 Lakh Local Body Teachers, Salary Hike From October

The Bihar Education Department has announced that local body teachers who have cleared the Competency Test will now receive the benefit of pay protection from their date of joining. 

The order, issued on Monday, states that around three lakh special teachers across the state will see a monthly salary increase of Rs 4,000-Rs 5,000 with the October 2025 pay scale.

Teachers who have already been appointed as special teachers will receive arrears of the revised pay along with their October salary. The government had conducted Competency Tests to upgrade local body teachers to special teachers, and nearly three lakh candidates have passed the first and second phases. 

Teachers who qualify in the upcoming third, fourth, and fifth tests will also be eligible for the same benefit. In addition, the department has extended the benefit of pay protection to 28,750 newly appointed head teachers in government primary schools.

All these head teachers, who were earlier working as special or local body teachers, will now receive pay protection from their date of joining.
