Due to the subsidy provided by the state government on agricultural connections, farmers are being provided electricity for irrigation at only 55 paise per unit. For new agricultural connections, farmers need to submit identification and residential proof (Aadhaar card or Voter ID card) along with land ownership documents.

Department officials have urged all farmers to obtain electricity connections before using electricity and avoid unnecessary trouble. During inspections, those found stealing electricity illegally may face fines and legal action.
