Uttarakhand Rain News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that Uttarakhand will receive light to heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. It informed that several regions of the state witnessed cloudy skies and light rain on Thursday, reducing the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius. It stated that the rain has provided relief to the residents from the scorching heat, adding that the state will witness similar weather conditions in the upcoming days.

The weather department informed that several key regions, including the capital city Dehradun, Haridwar, Mussoorie, and Nainital, have been receiving rainfall for the past two days, adding that the hilly regions are also likely to witness hailstorms. The IMD has issued an orange alert for strong winds and thunderstorms for Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri Garhwal, and Rishikesh, adding that the hilly regions are also likely to receive light rain in the upcoming few days.

Rain Likely In Kedarnath, Other Sites 

The weather department also informed that there has been light snowfall on the peaks of Kedarnath, adding that Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri have been witnessing light to moderate rain for the past two days. It stated that the temperature has significantly reduced in all four dhams of Uttarakhand. While providing details, it stated that the maximum temperature has dropped by four to six degrees Celsius in several regions of the state.

Rainfall Leads To Waterlogging In Haridwar 

The IMD stated that Haridwar has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past few hours, leading to waterlogging in the low-lying areas of the city. It stated that the commuters had to face inconvenience due to the waterlogging in multiple regions, including Shri Chandracharya Chowk and Bhagat Singh Chowk. It further advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings for the next few days to avoid any inconvenience.

Apart from Uttarakhand, the weather department has also issued rain alerts for other states, including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.
