In response to the increasing incidents of cybercrime, the Bihar government has decided to conduct a comprehensive cyber security audit of all websites and online services operated by state government departments. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) has been designated as the nodal agency for this initiative.

The audit will assess the digital infrastructure of various government portals against standard cyber security protocols. Any vulnerabilities or irregularities found will be addressed promptly to strengthen the systems.

EOU ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan stated that cyber audits will be initiated across all government departments and institutions. “Cybercrime has become a major challenge, with several organised cybercriminal networks being exposed recently. Identifying and taking strict action against these gangs is underway,” he said.

The audit process will be carried out in coordination with agencies such as C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), I4C (Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre), and other investigative bodies. The action plan is currently in its finalisation stage.
