A school principal in Bihar’s Jamui district was found to be using a school room as her residence, prompting an investigation by the District Magistrate (DM). The incident came to light after a video surfaced online, leading DM Rakesh Kumar to visit the school for inspection personally.
The DM’s visit revealed that the principal had already cleared out her belongings from the room at the upgraded middle school in Bardaun in Jamui district of the state, following prior information about the misuse.
During his visit, DM reprimanded the principal, Sheela Hembram, emphasising that school facilities should solely serve educational purposes. Media reports had earlier exposed the headmistress’s use of the school room, complete with a bed, cupboard, TV and kitchenware.
