The Bihar state government has initiated a project to renovate and rebuild dilapidated Industrial Training Institute (ITI) buildings across the state. Damaged buildings will undergo repairs, while those deemed beyond repair will be completely rebuilt.
The Building Construction Department has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing this project. Following a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, the Labor Resources Department's Planning and Training Directorate has formally requested the Building Construction Department to identify and catalog all dilapidated ITI buildings, categorised by division, for renovation or reconstruction.
The Building Construction Department, in turn, has instructed its executive engineers in each division to identify these buildings and submit proposals for government approval. So far, proposals have been received for ITIs in Forbesganj, Supaul, Saran, Katihar, Muzaffarpur, Nawada, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, Rohtas, Munger, and Begusarai.
Furthermore, demolition of the old, dilapidated workshop at the Digha Ghat ITI has commenced, paving the way for the construction of a new administrative building, office spaces, classrooms, an examination hall, parking facilities, and a drainage system.
