In a push to promote digital technology in farming, the Bihar Agriculture Department on Sunday launched an AI-powered agricultural radio broadcasting system aimed at providing timely and accurate information to farmers.
Launching the initiative at Krishi Bhawan, Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Sinha said the digital radio service, named Bihar Krishi Radio, will not only help farmers increase their income but also equip them to address challenges such as climate change.

The app-based radio service, available on both the Play Store and App Store, has been designed keeping farmers’ needs in mind. It will provide updates on weather forecasts, crop disease management, mandi prices, and government schemes in simple regional languages, 24/7.
The system uses artificial intelligence to analyse weather, soil, and market data to deliver instant, customised advice. Officials said timely guidance on pest and disease management will help farmers cut losses, while real-time market information will enable them to secure better prices for their produce.
