Bihar: A shocking case of dowry-related abuse has emerged from Farsadangi village in Bihar, where a man allegedly ended his marriage by sending triple talaq to his wife through a social media message. The incident reportedly occurred after the woman’s family failed to meet the husband’s demand for a Bullet motorcycle as part of the dowry.
According to a report by Jagran.com, the victim, Gulfasha, filed a formal complaint at the Palasi police station, naming her husband Mu Raja, father-in-law Moosa, and mother-in-law Shabnam in the FIR. She alleged that despite paying Rs 2 lakh in cash at the time of the marriage in November 2024, her husband started demanding a bike shortly before Ramadan in February 2025.
Due to her family's poor financial condition, Gulfasha said she was unable to fulfil the demand. This led to a drastic change in her husband's behaviour, turning abusive and emotionally violent. She further claimed that her husband began harassing her through calls and messages, ultimately sending a triple talaq message via social media on 29 March 2025.
A village-level meeting (panchayati) was held after the incident, where the husband allegedly admitted to giving triple talaq. Shockingly, Gulfasha's in-laws defended their son's actions rather than condemning them.

She also alleged that she was continuously harassed mentally, and her photos were circulated with malicious intent. She was even provoked through social media to commit suicide.
