Bihar Floods: A video of Congress MP Tariq Anwar riding piggyback during flood inspection in a Bihar village has gone viral. In the video, Anwar was seen being carried on the back of the villagers through waterlogged fields while taking stock of the situation in the flood-prone areas. The villagers were also seen supporting Anwar from behind to ensure that he did not fall off.
The viral video has led to yet another political war of words between the BJP and Congress. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, “Sense of entitlement of Congress. Even in flood-affected areas, they want VVIP protocol?"

The Congress came out with their side of the argument, stating that Anwar was ‘unwell’ because he was carried on the back of the villagers. Kathihar District Congress President, Sunil Yadav, remarked that the villagers picked up the Congress MP willingly after knowing that he was unwell due to the extreme heat.
The Congress district president further said, as quoted by NDTV, "We used a tractor, a boat, and a bike to travel. During the inspection, our truck got stuck in the mud, and we had to walk around 2 km. It was extremely hot and Mr Anwar was feeling unwell; his head was spinning. As soon as he expressed this, the villagers picked him, purely out of love, and walked around."

The Congress leader was on a two-day visit to his constituency and toured the Shivnagar-Sonakhal areas of the Dhuryahi Panchayat in Barari and Manihari assembly constituencies. In his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the Congress MP shared the pictures from the flood inspection drive and assured that he stands with the affected people.
Bihar remains in critical condition due to the torrential rains, with the rivers Kosi, Gandak, Ghagra, and Ganga flowing above the danger level mark.
