Bihar News: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 110-kilometer-long Galgalia-Thakurganj-Araria new railway line on September 15. The railway officials, while providing details, stated that the prime minister will flag off the train during his Bihar visit. The officials further stated that the railway line will significantly boost the connectivity and will provide convenience to thousands of the passengers by cutting the travel time. Earlier last month, the railway stated that several new projects are expected to be launched in the upcoming months to boost the regional connectivity.
While providing details, the officials stated that Katihar-Siliguri Express will leave from Katihar at 5 am and will arrive in Siliguri at 10 am. They further stated that the train will pass through several stations, including Purnia, Kasba, Jalalgarh, Araria Court, Rahmatpur, Bansbari Halt, Khawaspur, Lakshmipur, Barda Halt, Kaliaganj, Tedhagachh, Bibiganj, Tulsia Halt, Pauakhali, Kadogaon Halt, Bhogdabar Halt, Thakurganj, Galgalia, Naxalbari, and Bagdogra. The train is significantly likely to boost the regional connectivity, especially during the upcoming festivals.
While returning from Siliguri, the train will leave from Siliguri at 12.30 pm and reach Katihar at 6 pm. Earlier, the Railway Board had released the timetable for the operation of three trains in this section. The authority stated that the New Jalpaiguri-Narkatiyaganj Puja Special train will run 7 trips from September 28 to November 9 through Seemanchal-Mithilaanchal. This train will depart from New Jalpaiguri and reach Narkatiaganj via Siliguri, Thakurganj, Araria, Forbesganj, Jhanjharpur, Sitamarhi, and Raxaul.
PM Modi is also likely to inaugurate several other projects in multiple districts during his Bihar visit. The legislative election in Bihar is set to be conducted in the later months of the year, with NDA trying to repeat its government, while the INDIA bloc would try to make a comeback.
