The Directorate of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has directed to organise camps in every block premises from May 5 to 15 to identify children with disabilities, certify their disability, provide them with health facilities, and cover them under various government schemes in Bihar’s Buxar. 

On the first day, May 5, camps will be organised in Itarhi and Sadar blocks. Subsequently, camps will be held in Chausa and Rajpur block premises on May 7, Brahmpur and Chaugain on May 8, Simri and Chakki on May 9, Dumraon block premises on 10, and Nawanagar and Kesath on 13. 

The Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer has been directed to determine the roster among the blocks and ensure the deployment of sufficient doctors and personnel to issue Unique Disability Identification (UDID) cards to children under 18 years of age. A medical board has been instructed to be formed at the district level for the disabled children referred from the block-level camps.

Additionally, the Assistant Director, District Disability Empowerment Cell, has been appointed as the nodal officer at the district level for the successful organisation of the camps in the blocks. 

To ensure the successful organisation of the camps in the blocks and the access of disabled children to the camps, all in-charge Block Medical Officers and Block Education Officers have been jointly appointed as nodal officers at the block level. They have been directed to ensure the access of disabled children to the camps with the help of Para Legal Volunteers, Anganwadi workers, Asha workers, and all public representatives. 

All Block Development Officers have been directed to depute personnel at their level and to hold coordination meetings with all concerned at the block level for mutual coordination, as well as to monitor and supervise the entire program. 

The Block Education Officer has been directed to collect and transmit the complete data related to all disabled children present in the disability identification camps and make it available to the District Education Officer.
