Bihar Pink Bus Service: The Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) is set to introduce the Pink Bus service in Munger, aiming to enhance safety and convenience for women. The service will soon commence operations. In the first phase, two buses will be deployed, operating between Munger and Jamalpur and Jamalpur and Bariarpur.

Additionally, all operational roles, including the driver and conductor, will be managed by women. The bus will be equipped with special amenities such as a sanitary pad ATM to ensure the convenience of women passengers, News18 reported.

Munger Pink Bus Service: Check Route, Fare And Timings

According to a News18 report, the Pink Bus service will initially run two buses on the Munger to Jamalpur and Jamalpur to Bariarpur routes, with highly affordable fares. Passengers travelling from Jamalpur to Munger will have to pay Rs 18, while passengers travelling on the Jamalpur-Bariapur route will have to pay Rs 27.

The Pink Bus service will operate daily on the designated routes between 8 AM and 5 PM. Speaking to News18, Amit Kumar, Munger Bus Depot, stated, “This initiative will not only make travel easier for women, but will also provide them with the opportunity to travel in a self-sufficient and safe environment.”

Bihar Pink Bus Service: Check Special Amenities For Passengers

The Munger Pink Bus service will be equipped with unique facilities to enhance the travel experience of women passengers.

- The most significant feature is a sanitary pad ATM, which allows female passengers to instantly dispense pads for a Rs 5 coin, offering significant relief to them while travelling during their periods.

- According to the report, at least 22 seats will be exclusively reserved for women.
To ensure the safety and convenience of female passengers, the buses will be equipped with GPS, CCTV cameras, a fire extinguisher and female conductors.

With the launch of the Pink Bus service, the women of Munger now have access to better, safer and more accessible public transportation.
