PM Awas Yojana Waiting List Bihar:  Over 13.50 lakh people in Bihar have applied for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with the number growing yearly. Bihar has not received any targets from the central government over the last three fiscal years, which is the primary cause of the waiting list's rise (PM Awas Yojana Waiting List Bihar). This covers the current fiscal year, 2024–2025, as well as the fiscal years 2022–2023 and 2023–2024.

This was the case for a considerable amount of time while Giriraj Singh served as the Rural Development Minister of Bihar in the Central Government.

Despite this, the central government persisted in ignoring Bihar's poor population. The circumstances have now altered. It is anticipated that the Central Government will approve 2.5 to 3 lakh houses for Bihar during the current fiscal year.

In light of this, Bihar's Minister of Rural Development, Shravan Kumar, recently met with Union Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and made a demand for at least six lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. It's also crucial to remember that Bihar did not undertake a survey of SC/ST families following the 2018–19 fiscal year.

The state administration anticipates that in such a scenario, new SC-ST families will be established in five years. In light of this, the state administration has asked the Centre's approval to conduct survey of SC-ST families.

Senior representatives of the Rural Development Department claim that there are several causes for the lengthy waiting list. The first reason was the BJP being out of power in Bihar for 22 months. The second reason is that the utility certificate of about 50 thousand houses is pending. While the third reason is lack of funds.
