In a massive two-day special drive conducted across Bihar on May 31 and June 1, the state police arrested more than 1,000 wanted criminals and warranties, seized illegal arms, and recovered large quantities of liquor and narcotics. The operation, led by Senior Superintendents and Superintendents of Police across all districts, aimed to tighten law enforcement and curb criminal activity.

According to the Police Headquarters, 519 wanted criminals and 517 individuals with pending warrants were apprehended. Additionally, the campaign led to the recovery of 14 illegal firearms, 19 live cartridges, 18 empty shells, and 14 mobile phones from districts including Patna, Gaya, Rohtas, Banka, Begusarai, Khagaria, Gopalganj, Motihari, Bettiah, and Madhepura.

The extensive vehicle-checking drive inspected 62,614 vehicles. Of these, 7,432 were issued challans and a total fine of Rs 1.07 crore was collected. Moreover, 115 vehicles were seized during the campaign.

The campaign also uncovered significant quantities of illegal substances. Over 11,000 liters of alcohol were recovered—7,255 liters of foreign liquor and 4,452 liters of country liquor. Police also destroyed 4,130 liters of Java Mahua during the operation.

From the narcotics category, 6.9 kg of ganja, 2.5 kg of doda, and 0.52 grams of smack were seized. Additionally, 39 liters of banned cough syrup, Rs 61,500 in counterfeit currency, and more than Rs 40,000 in cash were recovered.

The Bihar Police have reiterated their commitment to continuing such intensive drives to maintain law and order and curb illegal activities across the state.
