Bihar: Patna experienced 41.8 mm of rainfall on Suday, resulting in widespread water-logging across the city. Posh localities and low-lying areas such as Strand Road, Rajbansi Nagar, Boring Road, Bailey Road, and Patliputra Colony were particularly affected. The water-logging disrupted vehicular movement and impacted several key locations. The Bihar Assembly premises, nearby ministerial bungalows, and various other locations including hospitals in Patna were waterlogged after continuous rainfall hit the state capital.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an inspection of the affected areas, focusing on sump pump houses to address the water-logging issue. He instructed officials to take necessary steps to prevent future occurrences during heavy rainfall. Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Nabin also called an emergency meeting in response to reports and visuals of the water-logging.

Minister Nitin Nabin highlighted the need for improved preparedness and response. He ordered that all senior officers on leave return to duty immediately and that no leave be granted until September 30. The state government has also directed district administration officials to remain vigilant as river water levels continue to rise due to ongoing rainfall.

The Water Resources Department reported that rivers such as the Gandak, Kosi, Ganga, Burhi Gandak, Mahananda, and Kamla are flowing above the danger mark in several districts, including Patna, Gopalganj, East Champaran, West Champaran, Bagaha, Purnea, Supaul, Darbhanga, Khagaria, and Jhanjharpur. However, officials stated that the situation is not yet alarming.

"Rain in the past few days have raised the water level of Gandak, Kosi, Ganga, Burhi Gandak, Mahananda and Kamla rivers in the state. Rivers are flowing above danger mark at certain places in Patna, Gopalganj, East Champaran, West Champaran, Bagaha, Purnea, Supaul, Darbhanga, Khagaria and Jhanjharpur in the state", said an official bulletin.
