Rajasthan: Monsoon rains have caused widespread devastation across Rajasthan, resulting in the loss of at least 20 lives as people were swept away in floods. Torrential downpours have impacted various areas, including Jaipur, Bharatpur, Karauli, and Hindaun, creating dangerous conditions.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rain in seven districts, including Jaipur, Dausa, and Sikar. A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued for 11 other districts, such as Ajmer, Alwar, and Bhilwara. Schools have been closed in six districts, including Jaipur, as a precautionary measure.

Flood-like conditions have emerged in Bharatpur, Hindaun, Karauli, and Jaipur due to continuous rainfall. In Jaipur, after a full day of rain on Sunday, heavy downpours resumed on Monday morning, further exacerbating the situation. Roads are blocked in multiple districts due to waterlogging. The rain is expected to continue for the next few days, with the circulation system over northeastern Rajasthan likely to persist.
