In a move aimed at addressing key challenges faced by Bihar universities, Raj Bhavan has constituted a three-member committee of vice-chancellors to examine and propose solutions to various academic and administrative issues. The committee is expected to submit its report within 15 days to the Education Department.
A formal notification, signed by Governor’s Principal Secretary Robert L Chongthu, was issued on Wednesday.

The committee includes:
-Prof Pramod Kumar Bajpai, Vice Chancellor of Jaiprakash University, Chapra
-Prof Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor of Patna University
-Prof Vivekanand Singh, Vice Chancellor of Purnia University
According to the notification, the committee will primarily focus on resolving issues related to the Samarth portal and its implementation, along with other concerns involving teaching-learning processes, university budgeting, and broader administrative hurdles.
The Vice Chancellors of other state universities have been invited to present their suggestions to the committee. Those who wish to participate in person will also be allowed to attend the committee meetings. After reviewing the input from all universities, the committee will compile its findings and recommendations for submission.
This decision follows a meeting of university vice-chancellors held on June 18, chaired by Governor and Chancellor Arif Mohammad Khan, where it was agreed to establish a dedicated committee to resolve persistent issues within the higher education system.

Copies of the notification have been forwarded to Vice Chancellors of all state universities, including Patna University, Pataliputra University, Magadh University, BRA Bihar University, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, BN Mandal University, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Munger University, and Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University, among others.
