The Bihar registration department has achieved a record-breaking revenue collection from land and flat registrations this financial year. The department had set a revenue target of Rs 7,500 crore for 2024-25, which was successfully met by March 26. So far, revenue collection has surpassed Rs 7,516 crore, reaching 100.22 per cent of the target.
According to departmental reports, revenue in the previous financial year (2023-24) stood at Rs 6,170.91 crore. This year, an additional Rs 1,345.72 crore has been collected, marking the highest-ever revenue for the department.
Among the 83 registration offices that exceeded their targets, Babubarhi, Nirmali, Jaynagar, and Madhura sub-registrar offices recorded the highest revenue collection. Regular weekly reviews are being conducted by Departmental Secretary Vinod Singh Gunjiyal and Registration IG Rajneesh Kumar Singh to monitor revenue progress.
Additionally, site inspections have helped detect cases of revenue loss, leading to increased collections. Disciplinary action has also been taken against officials found responsible for financial discrepancies.
