The Bihar Road Construction Department has submitted estimates totaling Rs 15,000 crore for the construction of various national highways (NHs) to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. Additionally, estimates worth another Rs 3,000 crore are expected to be sent within the next three to four days.

The submitted estimates have already received approval, and the tendering process for these road projects will commence following clearance from the Ministry’s Internal Finance Department.

Among the projects included is the four-laning of Naubatpur Bazaar road in Patna, which has been prioritised and approved with an estimated cost of Rs 37.5 crore. Land acquisition for this project is already complete.

Other major projects include the construction of bypasses in Arwal (12.8 km), Daudnagar, and Amba in Aurangabad district. Estimates for these bypasses have been forwarded to the Ministry for approval. Additionally, an estimate for the construction of a Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Dumraon has also been sent.

The estimate package also covers the construction of a four-lane highway connecting Katoria to Panjwara.

According to officials from the Road Construction Department, once the Internal Finance Department of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways grants approval, the tendering process for all these projects will begin immediately. Land availability for all projects has been confirmed.
