In a recent review meeting with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Road Construction Minister Nitin Naveen emphasised the need to construct a junction at the endpoint of two approach roads, specifically from BSNL Chowk to the hill, to resolve ongoing traffic issues. The meeting focused on updates regarding the approval and progress of road projects at the central government level, including the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
Minister Naveen directed officials to organise a joint meeting between MoRTH and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to ensure convenience for the general public. He stressed the importance of adhering to all standards while seeking effective solutions to reduce traffic congestion. The installation of an advanced traffic monitoring system was also approved to better manage traffic flow.
Officials were urged to expedite the alignment and execution of ongoing schemes, with several DPRs already prepared and expected to be implemented on the ground soon. Contractors have been strictly instructed to complete all construction work within the stipulated time frame and maintain high-quality standards.
The meeting was attended by Department Secretary B Karthikeya Dhanji, Regional Officer Vishnu Murthy, Chief Engineer Sunil Kumar, Bihar State Bridge Corporation Managing Director Jitendra Kumar, National Highway (South) Chief Engineer Umakant Rajak, National Highway (North) Chief Engineer Umashankar Prasad, and other senior officials.
