Diwali And Chhath Puja Special Trains: Indian Railways announced the operation of several special trains, including the Tejas Superfast Festival Special and Vande Bharat Express between Delhi and Patna to accommodate the heavy rush during the festive season of Diwali and Chhath Puja. These trains aim to provide additional travel options for passengers travelling between the two cities during this period.
Bihar Special Trains List For Chhat Puja And Diwali
Delhi-Patna Tejas Superfast Festival Special
The Tejas Superfast Festival Special train will operate on select days to facilitate travel between New Delhi and Patna. From New Delhi, the train will run on October 29, 31, November 2 and 5, departing at 8:25 AM. It will stop at various stations along the route and reach Patna Junction at 8:30 PM on the same day.
For the return journey, the Patna-New Delhi Tejas Superfast Festival Special Express will operate on October 30, November 1, 3 and 6. It will depart from Patna at 7:30 AM, making stops at Ara (8:05 AM), Buxar (8:47 AM), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (10:30 AM), Prayagraj (12:30 PM) and Kanpur Central (2:38 PM), before reaching New Delhi at 7:35 PM.

Vande Bharat Express For Patna-Delhi Route
For the first time, Indian Railways is introducing a Vande Bharat Express on the Patna-Delhi route during the festive season. This trial service aims to offer faster travel between the two cities, with the journey taking around 11.5 hours. The Vande Bharat Express, unlike other trains, will only offer chair car seating and no sleeper class.
The Patna-Delhi Vande Bharat Express will depart from New Delhi at 8:25 AM on October 30, November 1, 3 and 6, reaching Patna at 8:00 PM after stopping at major stations like Ara, Buxar, DDU, Prayagraj and Kanpur. The return service will operate on November 2, 4 and 7, departing from Patna at 7:30 AM.
Fare Details for Vande Bharat Express
The fare for the Vande Bharat Express between Patna and Delhi has been set at Rs 2,575 for the AC chair car, while the fare for the AC Executive Chair Car is Rs 4,655.
Delhi-Patna Superfast Festival Special
Additionally, Indian Railways will run the Delhi-Patna Superfast Festival Special Express on October 24 and 31. This train will depart from Delhi at 11:55 PM and arrive at Patna Junction at 4:40 PM the following day. The return service will run on October 25 and November 1, departing from Patna at 5:50 PM. It will stop at stations including Danapur, Ara, Buxar, DDU, Prayagraj and Govindpuri before reaching Delhi.
