Bihar News: A new rift has surfaced in the Lalu Prasad Yadav family after Rohini Acharya shared a video and a long post on Tuesday, criticising those who, according to her, have questioned her decision to donate a kidney to her father.

In her post, Rohini said people using Lalu Prasad Yadav’s name should show genuine concern rather than offering what she described as “false sympathy”. She stated that if anyone truly wished to honour her father, they should come forward to donate kidneys to poor patients who are struggling to survive. “Those who want to do something in the name of Lalu ji, then instead of showing false sympathy, such people should come forward to donate their kidneys to those millions of poor people who are counting their last breaths in hospitals and who need kidneys, and should donate their kidneys in the name of Lalu ji,” she wrote.

She also responded sharply to individuals who criticised her for donating her kidney, asking them to debate her openly if they had the courage. Rohini further targeted those who insulted her online. “The great donation of donating kidneys to the needy should be initiated first by those who call the daughter's kidneys dirty, then by Haryanvi great men, sycophantic journalists and Haryanvi devotee trolls who never tire of abusing me... Those whose blood runs dry at the mere mention of donating a bottle of blood, give sermons on kidney donation?” she said.Rohini-Facebook post

Her comments drew strong support from her elder brother, Tej Pratap Yadav, who heads the Janshakti Janata Dal (JD). He issued a firm statement backing Rohini and warned those he described as “Jaichand”, a term used for traitors. “Jaichands will have to pay the price, they will have to face the consequences,” he said in a post on X.

Tej Pratap added that he was deeply disturbed by what had happened to his sister. “I will not tolerate the insult of my sister under any circumstances... Jaichand will have to pay the price for their misdeeds... they will have to face the consequences,” he wrote. He said he had remained silent about issues concerning himself, but Rohini’s humiliation was “unacceptable and intolerable”.

In another post, Tej Pratap also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Bihar government to conduct an inquiry to determine whether his parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, had faced any form of mental harassment.
