In a major step toward enhancing the quality of education in government schools, around 1.5 lakh teachers across Bihar will undergo professional competence and skill development training under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has finalised the training schedule, which will take place in the teachers' respective workplace districts. The initiative aims to enrich teachers’ pedagogical skills, professional attitude, and ability to foster project-based learning in classrooms.
According to officials from the Education Department, the one-week training module has been prepared by SCERT and will be held at DIETs, BiPARD Patna and Gaya, SCERT, and other teacher training institutes across the state.
Special emphasis has been placed on micro-improvement projects and project-based learning, ensuring that teachers can effectively apply these methods during classroom instruction. An orientation program is also being launched for this purpose, focusing on practical implementation strategies.
The program will include both offline and online training components. Participants will include District Teacher Education Coordinators, Block Education Officers, Middle School Headmasters, Mathematics and Science Teachers, and district/block-level technical team members from all districts.
