A group of bouncers from Haryana thrashed a toll plaza employee in Bihar's Arrah district after he voiced support for Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment of wrestlers. Following the attack, the injured man was made to board a train to Gonda in Uttar Pradesh.
The victim, Balwant Singh, who was employed as the supervisor at the toll plaza in Arrah, died of his injuries. He died during treatment at a medical college in Lucknow. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 17.
After the video of the assault surfaced, the victim's father filed a complaint against six people. The relatives staged a protest, along with the body, at the police station as they sougt an FIR in the case.
Pradeep Singh of Gonda's Manikapur Pahadapur village said his uncle Balwant Singh was the supervisor at Kulharia toll plaza of Koilawar in Arrah district of Bihar. On Saturday, while he was coming to Gonda by train, his condition worsened on the way.
Death During Treatment
When the train reached Manikapur railway station, the co-passengers raised an alert. On receiving information, an RPF inspector, Udayraj, arrived on the scene and took the victim to a private hospital. From there Balwant was referred to a medical college in Lucknow, where he died during treatment.
According to Pradeep, he brought the uncle's body home, where preparations began for his last rites. Meanwhile, a video of his uncle being thrashed was circulated on the internet where the bouncers of the manager of Kulharia toll plaza could be seen mercilessly thrashing his uncle.
Video Went Viral On Social Media
Pradeep said when they spoke to Balwant's colleagues at the toll plaza, it was found that before the attack his uncle had a conversation with the manager of the toll plaza on Saturday over the allegations levelled against BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
During the discussion, Balwant reportedly supported the BJP MP, following which the manager's bouncers allegedly took him to a house and beat him to death while accusing him of theft. According to Pradeep, after being beaten up by the bouncers, his uncle was forced into a train coming to Gonda.
