Bihar Oil Mill Subsidy: The Bihar government has announced a major subsidy initiative to encourage farmers and youth to set up oil crushing mills, as part of its efforts to boost rural entrepreneurship and strengthen the state’s oilseed processing sector. The scheme aims to make farmers more self-reliant and financially empowered.
According to the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), a 33 per cent subsidy will be provided on a project cost of Rs 9.9 lakh for establishing a 10-tonne capacity oil crushing unit. The subsidy will cover machinery and installation only, while expenses related to land purchase or construction of buildings and sheds will not be included.
The scheme is open to:
-Government or private industries
-Farmer collectives such as FPOs/VCPs
-Registered start-ups in the oil processing sector
-Cooperative societies
Eligible applicants can apply online through the state government’s portal dbtagriculture.bihar.gov.in. The application window will remain open from December 3 to December 15, 2025.
Officials said the initiative provides a significant opportunity for farmers and young entrepreneurs to enter the agro-based industries sector with reduced financial burden.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the state will invest Rs 26,000 crore to accelerate industrial development. The upcoming 1,700-acre Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Dobhi in Gaya district is set to be launched soon.
Following the IMC model, the government will establish 31 advanced industrial parks across 14,036 acres in 29 districts, including 10 sector-specific parks such as a textile park and a pharma park.
Choudhary said these projects, backed by high-quality infrastructure and rule-of-law governance, will usher Bihar into a new phase of industrial transformation under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership.
