The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in Bihar is in its final phase, with over 89.7 per cent of voter enumeration forms submitted across the state, according to the latest update from the Election Commission on Thursday evening.
Out of the total 7,89,69,844 registered voters in Bihar, 7,08,18,162 have submitted their forms under the SIR drive so far. In the past 24 hours alone, the state recorded 8,25,236 new form submissions. Just 5.8 per cent of voters — approximately 45.82 lakh — are yet to complete the process.
As per official data, 84.9 per cent of the submitted forms have been uploaded on the CSI Net system. The revision process began on June 24, 2025, and aims to ensure an updated and accurate electoral roll.
Preliminary findings indicate that around 71,38,870 names may be excluded from the draft roll due to various reasons. Of these, 35.69 lakh voters were not found at their listed addresses, 12.55 lakh have passed away, and 17.37 lakh have permanently relocated. Additionally, 5.76 lakh names were found to be repeated in the voter database.

The Election Commission will open the complaint window for voters starting August 1, allowing citizens to report discrepancies or request corrections.
