Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several districts of Bihar are likely to witness a cold wave and dense fog in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that the temperature is expected to drop significantly, adding that the presence of dense fog will trouble the commuters, especially in the morning hours. The health ministry of Bihar has directed the district administration to make all the necessary arrangements to avoid any inconveniences. It stated that a sudden drop in temperature is likely to lead to problems for the children and elders, further advising the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings in the morning hours.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including East and West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Bhabua, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Gaya, are set to witness dense fog and a cold wave for the next few days. The temperature in the southern region of the state is likely to remain higher in comparison to the northern districts.

While the maximum temperature in Patna was recorded at 16.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday, 7 degrees below normal, the minimum temperature remained at 12.8 degrees Celsius, 2.6 degrees above normal. The IMD stated that the highest temperature in the state was recorded in Kishanganj at 22.6 degrees Celsius. The difference between the maximum and minimum temperatures in the capital city was four degrees. The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Bhagalpur at 12 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has also stated that apart from Bihar, several regions of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal are also set to witness a cold wave and dense fog. The IMD also stated that light snowfall is expected in the higher regions of Himachal Pradesh, including Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Kangra, Mandi, and Shimla.
