Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday stated that at least 18 districts of Bihar are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that along with heavy rainfall, several districts are also likely to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the excessive rainfall might also lead to waterlogging and power outages in multiple regions. The IMD also advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that the weather is likely to change due to the formation of a low-pressure area in the northeast Bay of Bengal. It further stated that the capital city is expected to witness rainfall till September 28. Apart from Patna, several other districts, including Kaimoor, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gayaji, Supaul, Araria, and Kishanganj, are also likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.

The IMD also stated that the continuous rainfall led to waterlogging in several key areas of Patna, including Ashoka Rajpath, Boring Road, and Kakarbagh. The waterlogging caused traffic disruptions in these areas, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. It further emphasised that the streets of Rajiv Nagar were filled with water up to two to three feet.
The weather department also stated that several districts also received severe rainfall on Tuesday. It further stated that 55.4 mm rainfall was recorded in Kishanganj, 45.6 mm in Nawada, 30.4 mm in Pipra of Supaul, 30.4 mm in Jhanjharpur of Madhubani, 26.5 mm in Purnia, 21.8 mm in Mansi of Katihar, and 18.7 mm in Jaynagar of Madhubani.
