Bihar Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for all 19 districts of North Bihar from Monday through Thursday. Eight districts, Kishanganj, Araria, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Chapra, Samastipur, and Khagaria, are likely to be most affected. On Monday, rainfall accompanied by winds of up to 30 kmph is expected across the state. Meanwhile, 35 districts recorded rainfall on Sunday, with an average of 11.5 mm. IMD has warned of possible waterlogging and partial flooding in low-lying areas due to a sudden rise in river levels.

The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for Monday in parts of Patna, Begusarai, Munger, Lakhisarai, Ara, Muzaffarpur, Sheikhpura, Kishanganj, Araria, Supaul, Vaishali, Chapra, Samastipur, and Khagaria. On Sunday, rainfall was reported in 35 districts, except Jamui, Banka, and Bhagalpur. Kishanganj’s Taiyabpur recorded the highest rainfall at 299.6 mm, followed by Thakurganj at 221.6 mm. In Madhepura, winds reached a speed of 31 kmph.

Patna Weather Update 

Patna will remain cloudy on Monday, with a warning of heavy rain at isolated places along with thunder. On Sunday, the city saw cloudy skies in the morning and heavy showers in the afternoon, providing partial relief from the heat. The maximum temperature dropped by 3.5 to 31.8 Degree Celsius, while the minimum rose by 1.2 to 27.1 Degree Celsius. The city recorded 25 mm of rainfall.

However, waterlogging caused difficulties near fruit and vegetable markets and in areas like Jagdev Path, Punaichak, Shivpuri, Anta Ghat, Musallahpur Haat, and Bazar Samiti. In view of the situation, the Municipal Corporation and Budko remain on alert. All sumps were operational on Sunday, with site and command center monitoring in place. Municipal Commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar said Quick Response Teams are actively draining water to ease public inconvenience.

Rainfall Recorded 

Several regions of Bihar recorded significant rainfall, with Thakurganj in Kishanganj receiving the highest at 221.6 mm. Pothia followed with 152.6 mm, Saur Bazar in Saharsa with 146.4 mm, Forbesganj with 144.2 mm, and Tedhagach in Kishanganj with 132.2 mm. Madhepura reported 110 mm, while Kishanganj’s Dighalbank saw 94 mm. Supaul recorded 78.9 mm, Raniganj in Araria 63.4 mm, Mokama in Patna 61.4 mm, Sonbarsa in Saharsa 61.2 mm, Pandarak in Patna 58.8 mm, and Kishanganj 57.8 mm. Begusarai reported 56.2 mm, Patori in Samastipur 54.8 mm, Tekari in Gaya 52.4 mm, Athmalgola in Patna 49.8 mm, and Nawakothi in Begusarai 49.4 mm of rainfall.
