Chhapra To Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat: The Amrit Bharat Express connecting Chhapra Junction to Anand Vihar Terminal was inaugurated on Monday with a grand ceremony at Chhapra Junction under the North Eastern Railway. The event saw the participation of several political leaders, railway officials and local representatives.

The train’s inaugural run began from platform number one, in the presence of MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal, Bihar minister Krishna Kumar Singh (Mantu Singh), MLC Virendra Narayan Yadav, MLA Dr. C.N. Gupta and Mayor Laxmi Narayan Gupta. On behalf of MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, his representative Engineer Satendra Singh joined the programme.

The main ceremony was led virtually by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who flagged off three Amrit Bharat trains and four passenger trains in Bihar through video conferencing.

Speaking at the programme, Railway General Manager Uday Borwankar and DRM Ashish Jain explained the train’s features. They informed that the service will run once a week initially and its frequency will be increased as more rakes become available.

MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal said the country is moving on a strong development path under the present government and achieving what once seemed impossible. Minister Mantu Singh added that Bihar is receiving modern railway facilities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said the “double-engine government” has brought pride to Biharis.

MLA Dr. C.N. Gupta and Mayor Laxmi Narayan Gupta also praised the initiative, calling it a step forward in Bihar’s progress.

Passengers expressed satisfaction with the new service. Travellers from Siwan and Chhapra said the train is affordable and convenient and urged the Railways to increase its frequency.

For the inaugural run, Loco Inspector S.K. Rai, Loco Pilot Dipankar Kumar, and Assistant Loco Pilot Rajaram operated the train. Assistant Loco Pilot Rajaram waved the green flag to Train Manager B.K. Singh before the departure.

To ensure smooth travel, Railways deployed Deputy Chief Ticket Inspectors Amit Kumar, Rajiv Kumar, Shashikant Kumar and Rahul Kumar to check ticketless passengers during the journey.
