Ever since Muzaffarpur Junction was placed under the Samastipur division, railway officials have been continuously trying to speed up its development work. In line with this, the new DRM (Divisional Railway Manager), Jyoti Prakash Mishra, expressed his displeasure during a recent visit, that the junction's development is running two years behind schedule. He ordered the Area Officer, officials from the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), and other relevant officers to immediately fix everything, from cleanliness to all other arrangements.
Following the DRM's order, railway officials have sprung into action and are now working to clean up the mess and fix the haphazard construction near platforms 7 and 8. On Tuesday, a team from the RLDA, led by the Area Officer, inspected the cleanliness drive. According to information, the Samastipur DRM will review the progress of these tasks again on September 11. After that, a visit by the General Manager (GM) of the East Central Railway is scheduled for September 12, and it's also been learned that the Railway Board Chairman and CEO, Satish Kumar, may also inspect the junction.
In preparation for these high-level visits, work has been sped up. The path leading from the Station Road side has been leveled, and the main circulating area has been barricaded to prevent passengers from being inconvenienced by the construction. A sewage leak near the unreserved ticket counter has been fixed, and an order has been given to paint the toilet building. Instructions were also given to clean up the dirt on the path connecting the railway track and the joint terminal building at platform 8.
During this inspection, Area Officer Ravishankar Mahto, Station Superintendent Akhilesh Singh, RPF Inspector Manish Kumar, Traffic Inspector Naveen Kumar, Manoj Kumar from the RLDA, and other railway employees were present.
