Bihar Electoral Roll Revision: A large number of foreign nationals have been reportedly found with Indian documents in Bihar during the house-to-house visits as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The citizens of the neighbouring countries, including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar, have been found with documents such as Aadhar cards and ration cards by the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the revision process. The Election Commission is also planning to remove their names from the voters list if the initial reports are found true in a proper enquiry from August 1 to 30, reported ANI, citing sources.
The findings from the EC are significant, as the Supreme Court had asked the poll body to include Aadhar and ration cards in the list of documents required for the verification. Apart from this, the apex court had also raised concerns regarding the timing of the voters list revision. However, it also allowed the poll body to continue the revision by recognising that the practice was not unconstitutional.

Earlier on Saturday, EC stated that 80.11 per cent of electors in Bihar submitted their forms. The poll body further stated that the commission is moving ahead to complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) before the stipulated time, July 25.
"With 77,895 BLOs, an additional 20,603 newly appointed BLOs on the ground, ECI is moving ahead to complete the collection of Enumeration Forms (EFs) before the stipulated time of 25th July 2025. Field-level teams, including 38 District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) across all 243 Assembly Constituencies, and 963 Assistant EROs (AEROs), are being closely monitored by the CEO for this purpose," the ECI was quoted as saying by ANI.
