Bihar Elections: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar conducted a review of preparations for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections, scheduled to be held in the next few weeks. The CEC, accompanied by Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi and held a meeting with representatives of 12 registered political parties on Saturday.

A delegation led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Patna on Friday for reviewing the ground situation, over the next couple of days, preparations for the high-octane assembly polls.

"A discussion was concluded with all recognised political parties of Bihar in the presence of Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioner Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Election Commissioner Dr Vivek Joshi," the EC posted on X.
* The Election Commission stated that political parties are the cornerstone of democracy and that all parties must ensure their participation at every stage of a transparent electoral process.
* The Commission urged voters to celebrate the festival of elections with harmony and respect.
* The Commission urged voters to experience transparency in elections, and urged political parties to ensure they nominate polling agents at every polling booth.
* Political parties thanked the Election Commission for taking historic, transparent, and firm steps to purify the electoral rolls and reiterated their complete commitment and faith in the electoral process.
* Political parties thanked the Commission for setting a maximum number of voters per polling station at 1,200.
* Political parties demanded that elections be held immediately after the Chhath festival to increase voter participation in Bihar and suggested holding the elections in as few phases as possible.
* Several recent new initiatives taken by the Election Commission, such as counting of postal votes and provisions related to Form 17C, were widely appreciated.
* All parties expressed their full confidence in the Election Commission and thanked the Commission for ensuring free, fair, and completely transparent elections. They expressed complete confidence.
