Bihar Elections 2025: Prashant Kishor, election strategist-turned-politician, on Thursday announced his first list of 51 poll candidates, comprising doctors, lawyers, former bureaucrats, and police officers, and stated that if they fail to get elected, the people of Bihar will be responsible.

“Now, if you don't vote for such people, then this is not a burden on Prasad Kishore. This is a burden on the shoulders of the people of Bihar,” NDTV quoted Kishor as saying.

In an interview with NDTV, Kishor highlighted key candidates and praised their work, emphasising that they were selected on the basis of their service to the people.

Keeping Bihar’s caste landscape in mind, Kishor strategically chose his candidates to form the right combination. In a first list of 51 candidates, 16 per cent are Muslims and 17 per cent come from extremely backward communities.

He said that, except for one, all candidates are first-time contestants.

“We have not given tickets in view of anyone's loss. We have given tickets in view of the benefits of Bihar,” Kishor added.
