Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate a series of agriculture-related schemes on Monday, May 19, at Krishi Bhawan, Mithapur. As part of the programme, the Chief Minister will also distribute appointment letters to newly recruited Block Horticulture Officers under the Agriculture Department.
The event, to be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Sinha, will see the formal launch of the Kharif Mahabhiyan-2025. A major highlight will be the inauguration of the Agricultural Engineering College in Ara (Bhojpur), built at a cost of Rs 144.72 crore, as well as the foundation laying ceremony for agricultural buildings at 62 sub-divisional levels.

In addition, CM Kumar will launch the ‘Bihar Krishi’ mobile application, aimed at digitising services and information for farmers. The app will enable farmers to apply for government schemes, check application status, track grants and payments, and access services such as crop market rates, plant protection guidance, weather updates, and more. A digital passbook feature will also be included to record all agricultural benefits availed by individual farmers in a systematic manner.
As part of the recruitment process through the Bihar Public Service Commission, appointment letters will be handed over to 315 newly selected Block Horticulture Officers, of which 150 are women.
Special guests at the programme will include Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Health and Law Minister Mangal Pandey, and Building Construction Minister Jayant Raj.
