Asked whether he was expecting a ticket for himself or his wife, Khesari said, "there is no difference between us." He was also asked about a statement he gave to a section of the media a day ago, saying "I have been trying to convince my wife to fight elections. But she says she can only fight with me".

The Bhojpuri superstar replied "Yes, it was so. But when I explained to him how brother (bhaiya) Tejashwi, who tried to transform Bihar during a short stint in power, deserves a better chance, she relented". The husband or the wife are expected to get the party ticket from a seat in their native district of Saran, which was once represented in the Lok Sabha by the RJD supremo.

Khesari Clears Air On Ticket

"I, Khesari Lal Yadav, the son and brother of all of you, am contesting the election from the Chapra Assembly this time. I am not a traditional leader; I am the son of all of you, the people; I am the son of the farmlands; I am the voice of every class and the enthusiasm of the young brothers. For me, politics is not a race for a chair; it is a responsibility—to bring development to every home in Chapra, to become the voice of every heart. The ideology of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the struggle of the respected Shri @laluprasadrjd ji, the young leadership of elder brother Shri @yadavtejashwi ji, and your blessings and trust are now the lamp lighting my path. @RJDforIndia," he shared a post on X, clearing the air that he is going to contest the election.
