Mokama Election Result 2025 Live Updates: Mokama Assembly seat, a fiefdom of don-turned-politician Anant Singh, who is also known as 'Chhote Sarkar' has been in the news after the murder of Jan Suraaj Party supporter Dularchand Yadav. Police arrested Anant and an FIR was registered against the Union Minister and JD-U leader, Lalan Singh, who was spotted making a provocative statement while campaigning for the jailed party candidate Anant. Earlier, the RJD gave him the ticket in 2020 and to his wife in the bypoll two years later. But Neelam Devi defected to NDA last year, understandably with her husband's approval. Now, the RJD has vowed to make things difficult for "Chhote Sarkar", by giving a ticket to Veena Devi, wife of his rival Suraj Bhan Singh, another gangster-turned-politician who had wrested the seat from Anant Singh's elder brother Dilip in 2000.

Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections were held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, 2025. The key parties in fray for the 243 Bihar Assembly seats are the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal United (JDU), in alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). They face a challenge from the Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which is in alliance with the Indian National Congress (INC). Further, poll strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, which has made its poll debut in the state, is expected to throw up unprecedented challenges for the regional parties.
