Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni's father Jeetan Sahni was on Monday night brutally murdered at his residence in Bihar’s Darbhanga. The former Bihar Minister, who was in Mumbai, has left for his hometown after the tragic killing of his father. The incident has caused a massive uproar in the politics of Bihar. Reactions from across the political spectrum have started pouring in.
Expressing anguish over the incident, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar has said that the way Mukesh Sahni's father had been murdered was unfortunate, cruel, and tragic. He said police would identify the culprits. Kumar also urged former Bihar deputy CM and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav to share with police if he knows anything about the culprit.
Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan also expressed grief over the incident. He said the culprits will be identified and brought to justice soon. “The brutal murder of the father of Vikassheel Party patron brother Shri Mukesh Sahni is extremely condemnable. The culprits will not be tolerated at all. The criminals will be identified as soon as possible and appropriate action will be taken. I and my party have deep condolences for Mukesh Sahni and the bereaved family,” he posted on X.
Independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav, expressing his pain over the incident, rebuking the Bihar government over ‘lawlessness’. “Former minister Mukesh Sahni's father JitanSahni ji was brutally murdered in Darbhanga by BJPThere is solid proof of Ravana RajThere is chaos due to murder after murder, Nitish ji'sThe credibility of the government has ended. RJD leader Mritunjay Tiwari has also issued a statement regarding the brutal murder of Mukesh Sahni's father. In a released video, he said, "The merciless murder of Mukesh Sahni's father, a former minister of Bihar, is extremely unfortunate... If the families of politicians are not safe in Bihar, it clearly means that common people are dependent on the mercy of God. Why are BJP and JDU leaders silent on this? They should come forward and speak up."
Bihar deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, reacting on the high-profile killing, said an SIT has been formed in the case and the culprit will soon be put behind the bars. “We have immediately taken action and the CM has ordered the formation of an SIT to investigate the issue at the earliest and the accused will be put behind bars... Bihar has the fastest working police force in the country. Proper investigation will be carried out and the accused will not be spared," he said.
