With assembly elections concluded, development works that had slowed across Muzaffarpur are set to regain momentum. Most officials and staff were occupied with election duties, causing delays in ongoing projects and stalling proposed schemes. With administrative focus returning to routine functioning, construction activities are now expected to accelerate.
Work on the six-lane road from Chandni Chowk to Bakhri and the approach road of the Chandwara bridge is currently in progress. Although construction continued during the elections, its pace had noticeably declined.

Authorities now expect the Chandwara bridge to open by December, with work on its approach road advancing steadily. The Chandni Chowk-Bakhri six-lane project is also moving faster, with completion targeted for next year.
Tenders for the Gobarsahi Road Overbridge (ROB) and the six-lane stretch from Ramdayalu-Bhagwanpur to Chandni Chowk will be issued soon. These projects had received approval earlier, but the tendering process was delayed due to the election code of conduct.
Additionally, widening the Gobarsahi-Dumri road and constructing a drainage system will begin shortly. This long-pending project, which had reached the tender stage before elections, is expected to offer major relief to residents who have struggled with waterlogging for decades.
Once upgraded, the route will also serve as an alternative connection to Hajipur and Patna. At present, commuters from Bhagwanpur must take a longer detour via Ramdayalu due to the narrow and damaged Dumri road. The new road is expected to ease traffic pressure and streamline connectivity in the region.
