Prashant Kishor, Political strategist and Jan Suraaj founder, targeted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over his absence from the recent NITI Aayog meeting. Kishor raised concerns about the CM’s health, cognitive ability and the political reasons behind his continued hold on power.
“Nitish Kumar didn't attend the meeting as he is not physically and medically fit... If you see it from another perspective, the CM of the poorest state, Bihar, didn't attend the meeting, which was for development, but he has gone today (at NDA CMs and deputy CMs meeting) to bargain for more seats for JD(U) (in Bihar elections). His mind is not working. A student from a common family has to take physical and medical tests to pass an examination, but the state's CM, who doesn't even remember his name, has no such rule for him... BJP has imposed such a person in Bihar as they have 12 Lok Sabha seats and support in Bihar."

Kishor also questioned Kumar’s mental faculties, highlighting the lack of accountability for individuals holding public office.
Kishor also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of engaging in political opportunism.
He adds, "It's the BJP's compulsion to keep Nitish Kumar as the CM face till election, as if they won't do that, he will shift to the other side."
This comes as Bihar Chief Minister and key NDA ally Nitish Kumar was notably absent from the 10th NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting held in New Delhi on Saturday. He was among several leaders from opposition-ruled states who skipped the session. His absence has fueled political speculation, especially with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to visit Bihar ahead of the state’s assembly elections later this year.
About NITI Aayog Meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 10th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, with participation from Chief Ministers and Lt. Governors representing 24 states and 7 union territories. This year’s theme was "Viksit Rajya for Viksit Bharat @2047."
The meeting began with a minute of silence to honor the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which claimed 26 lives. During his address, the Prime Minister said that Operation Sindoor should not be viewed as a one-time measure, urging the adoption of a long-term strategy to address security challenges.
Prime Minister Modi stressed the concept of "One State: One Global Destination," noting it would boost tourism and develop nearby cities. Highlighting rapid urbanization, he called for future-ready cities driven by growth, innovation, and sustainability. Emphasizing teamwork, he said a Viksit Bharat is achievable when every state progresses together as Team India.
